The Online Dental Dictionary is now available as an app integrated with dental-dictionary.com.You can now find German-English/English-German dental terms on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch! You will have access to terms from the extensive vocabulary of dentistry and dental technology which is continually updated. The dictionary was designed as an aid to translation and has been compiled by German and English speaking dentists and dental technicians in their native language. This means each word pair has been processed by two dental experts; one a native speaker of German and the other a native speaker of English.
Why is the dental dictionary only available on your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and on the Internet? The dental sector is highly innovative. Newly introduced procedures and trend products constantly create new, special terms and traditional specialist knowledge very quickly becomes inadequate. In a printed dictionary the latest terms are only included in an updated edition and this can take years. In addition to the “simple” terms, the Online-Dental-Dictionary places particular value on including highly specialised words, which are rarely found in other dictionaries. The editors continually update the Online Dental Dictionary. It is also updated in response to user enquiries – which is a special feature of the dictionary. If you are already a registered and paying user, who has previously used the dictionary on the Internet, by downloading this app you will receive unrestricted access to the complete Online-Dental-Dictionary as you are accustomed to. If you do not already have an Online-Dental-Dictionary subscription, you may subscribe in the app. As well as use of the app, this gives full access to all information on dental-dictionary.com, including support. If purchased through the app, this costs € 69.99 per 3 months or local equivalent, charged to your iTunes account. If you cancel your subscription before the end of the subscription period you may continue to use the Online-Dental-Dictionary, including the app, until the end of the subscription period. Otherwise your subscription will automatically renew, and your account will be charged again within 24 hours of the end of the subscription period.
What this free app offers you20 search requests are free. You type in a word or the first four letters; each successful search request is free of charge for 20 times. If a term is not listed or you have made a typing error, the search is not counted. Only a successful search request counts as a hit. The counter tells you how many hits you still have available after each successful search request. Once all your hits from this free introduction period have been used up, restricted use of the online dictionary will continue. In this mode you only have access to part of the dictionary. The dictionary is also interactive for subscribers. Dental terms that you have searched for but not found will be stored later in the vocabulary by the dictionary editors. You can also send your wishes to the editors by telephone or e-mail directly from this app. Subscribers have access to all the English explanations in the “Glossary of Prosthodontic Terms” and numerous equivalent German terms as well as a complete list of DIN EN ISO 1942 German terms and their definitions. |
